When it comes to content creation, whether it be for streaming, podcasting, voiceovers or even a zoom call, the importance of clear and high-quality sound cannot be overstated.

In this article we will be reviewing the FIFINE A6V USB Condenser Microphone, which promises to be a affordable yet solid option for anyone looking to step up their audio game without breaking the bank .

1. Pricing

Retailing for around USD $40, the FIFINE A6V is marketed as a budget-friendly condenser microphone aimed at the younger crowd who want a decent semi-professional grade microphone with all the basics like a basic shock mount and pop filter as a single kit.

The microphone comes in a few different sub variants, the AV6 which we are reviewing today which includes the Tripod, A6T comes with a boom and both the A6 & A6NEO having a Base Stand.

The FIFINE A6V loosely replaces/compares to the older FIFINE K669b which is it’s direct competitor at a similar at the same price but within the addition of RGB and a new shockmount/pop filter. At a similar price and often compared against is the Zealsound K66.

The microphone we are reviewing was purchased on Lazada from the FIFINE store and cost Thai ฿999 (~USD $28.87) including shipping.

2. Who is FIFINE

FIFINE is a microphone company quickly becoming known for producing high-quality, affordable audio equipment for content creators, streamers, podcasters, and musicians. They offer a range of USB and XLR microphones designed to deliver clear sound and ease of use and have been in the market for just under 10 years.

3. Unboxing

The FIFINE A6V microphone arrives in a sturdy colourful box protecting the microphone in transit and outlining its key features.

Box for Fifine A6V

In the box we find:

  • 1x FIFINE A6V USB Condenser Microphone
  • 1x Pop Filter (Attached)
  • 1x Shockmount attached (Attached)
  • 1x Adjustable Tripod
  • 1x USB-A to USB-C Cable (~2M)
  • 1x User Manual

The Microphone is packaged very securely within the box thanks to some high density foam and has both the pop filter and shockmount preinstalled. Something that can be fiddly and much appreciated.

Next to the microphone is a standard ~2M USB-C cable to USB-A cable for connecting the microphone to the computer. This cable can be upgraded to USB-C to USB-C without issue for devices like Macbooks which no longer have the older USB plug.

4. Design and Build Quality

While the chassis of the FIFINE A6V is made out of a hard plastic as opposed to metal as found on higher end microphones, it still feels relatively high quality.

Both the microphone grill and pop filter are made from a metallic grill which further adds to the premium feel of the microphone and increases durability. One cute addition is the smiley face on the pop filter

The microphone is securely suspended by thick rubber bands out of the box as a basic form of shock mount. These bands are replaceable should you wish to replace them or upgrade the microphone mount.
It is worth pointing out the microphone gain knob at the bottom of the microphone which spins easily without introducing obviouse noise into the recording.

Shockmount of Microphone A6V

The included shock mount has a standard universal 5/8 thread allowing for you to use an aftermarket boom arm or microphone stand should you wish. However included with the microphone is a basic adjustable tripod suitable for sitting on the desk.

To mute the microphone, lightly touch the pressure sensitive top plate of the microphone. This immediately mutes the microphone and turns off the lighting.

Output and power is provided to the FIFINE A6V via a standard removable USB-C input. This is a huge upgrade over the older K669 which is hardwired. The A6V DOES NOT have a direct audio out jack like the competing K66 for 0 latency monitoring or an XLR output found on higher end microphones.

When plugged in and unmuted the AV6 bursts into life going through quite an impressive RGB routine. Unfortunately their is no way to disable or customize this lighting either via the software or their being a switch on the microphone to disable it.

5. Software

This section will be very short.
The FIFINE A6V has ZERO software or additional drivers and is automatically installed by Windows.

Within Windows there is no enhancement options available within Microphone Properties to configure the microphone or change it’s output.

In all honesty this isn’t a bad thing and is one less vendors bloatware to pester me with update notifications. Lets face it, if you knew you what you doing to even need to configure the audio settings there are far better options and ways to do it, such as within OBS.

6. How it Sounds

The FIFINE A6V is a cardioid microphone, which means it’s got a front, and it is somewhat directional. This clever design rejects noise from the sides and rear, so your keyboard clicks and room echoes get cancelled out. This is represented on this butcrack looking Cardiod pattern.

Referred to as a ‘gaming mic’ on the product page, FIFINE are very transparent that this microphone has a frequency response between 60Hz-18kHz and cannot pick up low frequency deep bass such as recording for recording instruments or a very deep speaker.

This makes the AV6 ideal for streaming, gaming, voice calls, and podcasting, where speech clarity is key without additional processing. However, it’s not suited for professional music recording, especially for instruments or deep vocals that require a wider frequency range.

Sample Recordings

To showcase how the FIFINE A6V performs in real-world conditions, I tested it from a typical operating distance of 10–15 cm. For comparison, I also recorded using the built-in microphone of a Lenovo T460 and an iPhone SE (2020) to highlight the differences.

The recording sounds natural, free from digital distortions which is often found on integrated microphone arrays which use noise cancelling

Whether you’re starting a podcast, streaming on Twitch, or recording voiceovers, this microphone provides excellent performance, ease of use, and valuable accessories at an affordable price.

It’s not the best microphone out there, but for the price, it’s one of the best entry-level options available. If you’re looking for a plug-and-play solution with a solid set of features, the FIFINE A6V should be at the top of your list.
