If you ride a motorcycle, you know no doubt know how important it is to have your phone within reach for navigation, particularly if riding professionally as a delivery driver. While I would normally recommend and in the past always used Quad-Lock products, I couldn’t help but smile at the Helmet Mobile Phone Holder as I was scrolling through Lazada.
Purchasing
Realising I had a spare motorbike and plausible justification for spending ฿59 + ฿38 shipping (USD $2.88 total), I placed the order for the HT-513 Helmet Mobile Phone Holder through Lazada. If you were looking to buy over 50 of them, they are available on Alibaba for around $1!
The phone mount does come in a few different variations, notably the choice of colour and the type of mounting. For this order I chose blue and a mirror mount fitting.

The HT-513 comes in a decent quality printed box showing off the phone mount in different settings and with instructions on the box printed in English to assemble it. No tools or instructions are contained within the box.
Installation
Assembly of the phone mount is toolless and straightforward with the diagram on the box. For the HT-513, the mount is installed onto the motorcycle by removing the mirror and threading the the control arm of the holder through it.
Product Performance
While the helmet is a little bit of a novelty, it is surprisingly effective at limiting glare while on the road. Navigating through the backroads of Northern Thailand I had no issues seeing the screen and vibrations were minimal.
The locking mechanism locks the phone in secure and holds it from 3 sides. The charging port at the bottom is unobstructed allowing you to add a charger or run a USB cable to the holder. Using the holder for a couple of weeks I did have to tighten the adjustments to keep the phone in the ideal position.
If you have a larger smartphone or chunky case, be sure to measure it as the arms can only extend out ~10cm.
Conclusion
For just a couple of dollars this phone mount is an absolute steal if you can come to terms with it looking comical and not overly serious. The HT-513 is well engineered and is both playful and practical.
